FOCUS ATTACK DONATE TOYS TOURNAMENT

Welcome back FADC

Focus Attack Donate Cans (FADC) was an annual tournament held within the Colorado FGC to support those less fortunate than ourselves and experiencing trying times during the holidays by donating cans of food to food banks. Stay Fresh Presents wanted to bring back this event but with a twist! This year, our passionate and powerful community will be donating toys to a wonderful charity, Joyful Journeys, to spread holiday cheer and attack the stresses of poverty for struggling families

What to donate?

Instead of paying us and Akihabara Arcade to enter a bracket, you can bring a toy (or approved similar item from the list below) to play! Our rep from Joyful Journeys will handle the rest! One toy will enter you for one game. If you would like to enter multiple games, you need multiple toys. Any additional toy will get you raffle tickets.

What you can donate:

Any toy is allowed, but it must be brand new. No used toys. Toys for any age (0 - 17) will be accepted! Joyful Journey's also specifically encourages donations that meet a criteria below:

  • items for teenagers

  • sports related items

  • wireless speakers

  • stocking stuffers

  • baby dolls

  • body care kits

  • coats

  • clothes

  • shoes

  • bath toys

What you CAN'T donate:

  • Absolutely no wrapped gifts

  • No gift cards.

  • No gags and nothing inappropriate! Remember, we're trying to spread happiness to families in need.

This list will be updated per our contact with Joyful Journeys

Joyful Journeys Community Enrichment

Joyful Journeys Community Enrichment is dedicated to improving lives and strengthening families by providing essential support and community-based programs. The charity offers food assistance, hygiene products, baby essentials, and school supplies to those facing hardship. But providing essentials is just the beginning — lasting change happens when we empower families to thrive. Joyful Journeys fights poverty to help improve lives by providing critical human services like food, clothes, household items, hygiene products, baby items and school supplies.

Punctuality is important for running tournaments. Arrive and be present in the play area at least 15 minutes before your bracket is scheduled to start. We will have a staff member from the charity on site with a hard departure time of 6PM. Check-in with the Tournament Organizers (TO) and pay entry fees (Remember, this entry fee should be one toy or approved item to be donated).

When your match is called, you have 10 minutes to report to the station the TO tells you to play at. If you are not at the station to play within that time, and you did not communicate with either your opponent or the TO about using the restroom, getting a drink, or any other reason to not be present within those ten minutes you will be disqualified (DQ'd). When you are DQ'd, you are removed from the winner's bracket and placed into the loser's bracket. If you are in the losers bracket and are DQ'd then, you are out of the tournament.

DQs are rare at local events. The best thing you can do to avoid being DQ'd be to inform TOs if you have something important to do where you need to step out.

You will not be DQ'd if you are playing in multiple brackets at the same time. The TOs will communicate with each other about where you are and keep you within any brackets you are competing in as long as you are there.
